History of the Family:
Davey Boy Smith, aka British Bulldog, was born in Golborne, England to Sid
and Joyce Smith. Born November 27, 1962 he passed away unexpectedly
on May 18, 2002. He married Diana Hart, 11th child to Stu and Helen Hart
(Stampede Wrestling, Canada’s First Family of Wrestling) and they had two
children, Harry and Georgia, the inspirations behind creating this website.
Davey and cousin Tom Billington formed the tag-team union known as the British Bulldogs. Maybe it was their English style mixed with the shoot-fighting style from Japan, or
their ability to tell a great story in the ring that revolutionized and evolved
professional wrestling. With the benefit of being on weekly syndicated
television and seen around the world on satellite broadcasts, the vision of
Vince McMahon bringing pro-wrestling (including the Bulldogs, the Hart
Foundation, Owen Hart, DH Smith) into the homes of everyone around the
world and made his wrestling superstars household names. The style of
the two Brits was embraced, imitated and emulated to a level of some of the most spectacular high flying moves... not until the likes of the "Hart Smith Legacy". |
